| Hi everyone, Kris and I have been appointed the new owners of the server. Dev will still appear on occasion, though. He will be maintaining the plugins. In addition, atralupis will assist us form behind the scenes. I'd like to summarize some of the points that were covered in this topic: https://prospectmc.canadian-forum.com/t166-might-shut-down-the-server1. The server now only runs the following plugins: Lockette, Worldborder, Vanish and LogBlock. This means you will no longer be able to use /spawn, /home or have the ability to fly. These changes were implemented to minimize the probability of a plugin malfunction. We realize this would defeat the purpose of donation perks, so please suggest some alternatives! 2. Viper will remain a moderator to help deal with the influx of new users. Depending on how busy things are, we may require another moderator to help out. We are looking for someone that is active, trustworthy, fair and willing to deal with griefers. 3. I know a few of you have expressed interest in advertising the server. Please contact me as soon as possible and we can get started. 4. The current map will still be used. The border will be around until the 1.7 update. At that point, it will be expanded and possibly even removed. 5. Please contact Kris if you wish to donate to the server. She will give you details then. I believe that should be it. Please let either Kris or I know if you have any suggestions, questions, comments or issues with these changes. Thanks for supporting the server! | |

| A new map isn't being made, why would you want one again? | |

There are a ton of houses around spawn built by people who haven't hopped on the server in a while and probaly won't come back

| People posted in the earlier topic saying they would prefer if we stuck to this map. Perhaps in the future we'll start a new map, but we'll stay here for now. When the 1.7 update is out, the border will be extended.
There's still plenty of space elsewhere on the server, though.

There's still plenty of space elsewhere on the server, though. To add to the above response by Ima: On some servers (including one I ran myself for a bit), if a user has not been on for a certain amount of time, their home is reclaimed by the server administration and any locks changed to reflect this (chest locks, not the doors) as well as a sign notice being placed that states the home/build is now administration property, open to public exploration and will remain that way for another set amount of time. At that stage, the original owner (whom was recorded by the administration) can at any time come back to regular activity and ask to reclaim their home/build. If they fail to do so after this second time span elapses, the materials inside the chests are moved to a safe house and the home/build is fully turned over to the general public with the caveat that it NOT be torn down. Empty or not, homes, small/medium/large builds and even whole cities are a way to add character to a server and can even be utilized as show pieces for advertising.

| Just a few random empty houses around spawn is a stupid reason to delete a whole map. | |

i agree! i'd live in one of the houses, and i need a house. others new to the sever can live in the houses, or we can just take them down.
