| I've decided that since I turned off pvp in prospect, I created a new world that has pvp enabled. My main reason for creating this world was actually to give people a fresh start if they wanted one, as well as a bit more of a challenge than the normal map. But having a different map means there'll be some rules involved to inform people of the dangers of this world, but also to make sure that those who do join and understand the rules, won't have their enjoyment ruined by others.
First, here's some basic information about the map.
Map size: 2000 x 2000 circular map. Difficulty: Hard Mob's terrain damage is turned on. (Creepers, endermen) Also fire spread is enabled. The pvp world does not have a nether (yet) but ghasts will do damage there as well.
Here's some rules.
1. No spawn or bed camping.
2. Griefing to enter a house and pvp is OK, but replace the blocks. -- there will be towns where griefing, pvp, and mob damage is turned off.
3. Towns: must have a minimum population of 3 people, and will cost materials to make it official. -- the cost of protecting towns depends on size of area protected. --- minimum protection and exact cost will be decided later.
4. To give a little extra challenge, no mob grinders for items or experience. You can use a spawner, but mobs must be able to hit you. -- this rule is open for discussion, but currently in effect. --- it's also possible that I'll simply remove all the mob spawners in the map.
5. And of course the other server rules apply. Be respectful in chat, no exploits or hacks, etc.
Keep in mind that this map may not be permanent if it starts causing too many problems. Make sure you understand and accept the rules before joining. If there's any question, concerns, or comments, let me know here, or ask me when you see me in the server.

| I've been thinking lately that I should just close down the pvp world, and turn pvp back on in the normal world. While I do enjoy the pvp world, I feel like we should just work on improving the one world for now before adding anything. I'm just curious to see what people think of this and if they have any ideas.
I wouldn't mind turning on hard-mode in the regular world, to be honest. There's actually a lot of things I can do. I can somewhat combine the two worlds, and have creeper damage enabled outside of protected areas, (they would be purchasable for a rather low cost.) which would give creating and living in towns, or just working together, more appeal? Just a thought.
Anyways! I'd like to hear thoughts!

| Oh geez! CREEPER DAMAGE ENABLED?! That's crazy! I do think that enabling PVP would be a good choice and encouraging towns is good too. There should be some kind of benefit to live in a town, while still making it so that everyone doesn't create a town. Maybe another rank for town owners and something like factions to indicate what town you live in. Just a few ideas. | |

| You already know my thoughts concerning PvP in general - and I'm sure you remember what I told you once concerning any attempts to force players to cooperate.
That aside .... most of my suggestions detract utterly from the feel of the map.

| I have my reservations about turning pvp back on in the regular world--It's bad enough pvp is on in the nether, and I'd like to be able to carry stuff on me in the regular world without the fear of getting beaten & robbed by the stream of assholes that have been coming in since November. I would much rather keep it in a separate world. The problem with the pvp world is that the rules are so vague. It kind of feels like the world was hurriedly set up without any planning. That said, I would much rather lose my stuff in a pvp world than lose my stuff in the regular world; keeping the inventories separate is great becausethen it's not a big deal if I die or get robbed in the pvp world as opposed to the regular world. I'm fine with turning creeper damage back on, even if it'd take me some time to adjust The idea of purchasing protected areas sounds like a great balance. |

| Thanks, everyone, for your thoughts. Perhaps for now I'll leave the pvp world as is, and even turn pvp off in the nether so it's safe to travel along the nether-net. But eventually I do want to move everything back into a single map, so it's something to think about. If there's anything you guys would like to see, don't hesitate to let me know. One more thing I'd like to do is find more ways for people to spend their money. As it is, people sell, and have nothing interesting to spend it all on. | |

| First thing: I want to see towny implemented. It would be awesome to see the empires that spring up and what people choose to do. See, towns and stuff cost money to start. I say integrate that in with the current economy and we can have a much more stable and realistic economy. Towns also cost upkeep but there are taxes for residents as well. IF towny gets added, disable PVP inside of towns and enable it outside. I Personally would love to see the kinds of governments and the whole dynamic of towns going on. Also, it would encourage living in towns like what happened in PVP world.
